| Purpose: | Determination of molar mass of polymeric compound on the basis of kinematic viscosity measurement |
| Kratki opis metode: | Ubbelohde's viscometer is used to determine the kinematic viscosity of the liquid. Except for kinematic viscosity, a molar mass of a polymeric solution can be determined by computational means. The measurement is performed so that the viscometer is filled to a certain mark and the time it takes for the fluid to flow out from the mark X to the mark Y is measured. The measurement is performed at least 3 times, first for a clean solvent and then for the solution (polymer solution). The molar mass of the polymeric compound is obtained by the Staudinger equation. |
