Purpose: | Electrolitic etching of metal samples |
Kratki opis metode: | Electrolytic etching pattern is a method of using a certain voltage and a solution for etching in order to stands out the metal microstructure. In the case of electrolytic etching of the metal surface, the prepared metal sample is placed in a glass with the corresponding electrolyte and the Pt electrode as an counter electrode. The Pt electrode is used because of its electronegativity, and the corrosion solutions, the duration and the corrosion voltage depend on the type of metal material that is etched. After a certain time of electrolytic etching, a metallographic analysis of the etched sample is performed on an optical microscope and, if necessary, on a scanning electron microscope. |
