Project

By establishing the Foundry Center – SIMET, the Faculty of Metallurgy wants to strengthen research, development and innovation (IRI) capacities, improve the competencies of teaching staff and students and position the faculty and the metallurgical sector in terms of recognizing and activating its IRI potential. The purpose of establishing the Center is to network relevant stakeholders as a target group and enable the transfer of knowledge and skills, and will be in the function of research in the development of materials and technologies to potential users (primarily teaching staff and students) markets and the creation of the final product, then product development using specific technologies (CAD / CAE technologies), computer-aided design of product development processes and construction preparation, but through lifelong learning for students and professionals in economics.

The implementation of this project will stimulate the process of innovation, create a triple helix effect, ie unite the scientific research sector, government officials and the economy, which will consequently affect economic growth.

Activities carried out within the project:

  1. Establishment of the Castingpoint Center – SIMET which includes: 
    • Adaptation of the space for the Foundry Center
    • Equipping the Foundry Center – SIMET with scientific research equipment
  2. Organizational reform of the institution in order to improve the informal and formal organizational structure and adapt to the requirements of scientific research institutions global trends in the R & D sector, but also the wider context of social and economic development with emphasis on strengthening competitiveness and connecting relevant stakeholders.
  3. Implementation of horizontal principles including the promotion of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, sustainable development and the principles of good governance and cooperation with civil society.
  4. Promotion and visibility aimed at informing target groups and the general public about the project and its results.
  5. Project management and administration that will enable the implementation of the project in accordance with the Grant Agreement and other applicable legislation.
